My Question From Lunar Park

OK, I've been wondering about the whole deal with the cream colored car.... was it real or imagined? I got the feeling it was all imagined by the time the story was over. I may have just "not gotten it." My question is: Did Bret really see an older version of Robby at McDonald's that day? Or was that part of the story imagined too? (like the car... and Clayton)

I kept having to think and think about that one - and got nowhere. Maybe it's one of those "Cat's in the Cradle" stories, where it is real, but he doesn't really know his child so it seems as if he was lost all those years? I don't know.

Aside: Those freakin' email attachments are what freaked me out. Were they real?

I am thinking that the car was not real , or perhaps the car was real but the seeing Robbie at Mickey D's was not. Or aybe they both weren't because how the heck did robbie get the same car. Or maybe robbie and clayton were the same guy or something ,,,,,,, hmmmm errrrr not sure .

Having grown up on Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, and the like, I always assume that everything is real in stories like this. The caveat to that is that they may only be real for one person.
