Seeing that Kurt Vonnegut recently died, I'll vote for CAT'S CRADLE.

I was gonna say middlesex but since we already have so many votes for Cay's Cradle I guess I too will vote for it . :)

Hmmm -- not much of a science fiction reader; I was going to go with MIDDLESEX too ... oh well.
Ok let me just tell y'all that Middlesex is GREAT. I have it if anyone wants me to send it - otherwise I'm trading it in to the local Booklegger!
