If you were making a movie of The Memory Keeper's Daughter, who would you cast to play:

David - Heath Ledger
Norah - One of the Kates - Blanchett or Hudson.
Caroline - Kathie Bates
Paul - Brandon Flowers (lead singer of the Killers)
Al - The guy who played Tim Allen's sidekick on ToolTime, whatever that show was called
Rosemary - Christina Ricci
Christina Ricci is a brilliant choice for Rosemary.
For Norah, I saw someone a little more brittle ... Catherine Keener, maybe? Or Tea Leoni?
And I'd likely want to cast against type for David -- someone really likable, in the hopes that the audience wouldn't completely hate him by the end of the movie. Adam Sandler did a good job opposite Leoni in Spanglish; maybe he'd be good here, too.
